Instructors
Mandi Evans
started dance class when she was 5 years old in her hometown, Danville, IL. She studied jazz, tap, ballet, and tumbling at the Laurel School of Dance. At the age of 12 she was asked to be a student demonstrator and by 16 was teaching pre-schoolers through adults. The studio attended several seminars in the Chicago area and won overall high scores every year at several competitions. After receiving her associate degree in Arts and Science, she moved to the Chicago area to attend the dance program at Columbia College in downtown Chicago. She is currently teaching at the Summers Academy of Dance in Crystal Lake, IL and is looking forward to teaching at North Shore Ice Arena.
Simone Baechle
hails from Randolph, NJ. Her mother, a dance teacher, began teaching Simone to dance as soon as she could walk, and introduced her to many fundamentals of ballet. Simone graduated cum laude from Northwestern University, where she studied with Molly Shanahan (Molly Shanahan/Madshak), Billy Siegenfeld (Jump Rhythm Jazz Project), Jeff Hancock (River North), and Laura Wade (Ballet Mistress for Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago). Simone moved to Saint Louis in 2007 to become a member of MADCO (Modern American Dance Company). During the summer of 2008, Simone was MADCO’s teaching artist at Saint Louis ArtWorks, taught dance workshops at Access Academies, and also earned her certification as a Pilates mat instructor. Simone moved to Chicago in August 2009 to continue to pursue her career as a dance performer/instructor, and she is overjoyed to be jumpstarting the program at North Shore Ice Arena!
